Frequently asked questions

Can Netfira link to ANY inventory system?
Netfira uses one of two methods to connect directly to a legacy inventory system such as MYOB or Quickbooks etc.
Direct connection via ODBC (Open DataBase Connectivity) is a global standard that allows third party developers, like Netfira, to connect to compliant systems. MYOB, Microsoft and thousands of other companies support ODBC. The other primary way to access an inventory system is by using an SDK (Software Development Kit). Many companies, such as QuickBooks, make available an SDK that allows Netfira to request information from their inventory system through a series of interfaces called APIs. If your inventory system is not on our list please do not hesitate to contact us and we will arrange for a link to be provided.

Can Netfira install on my Local Area Network for multiple users?
Yes! Any number of users can install Netfira’s buyer application and all records will be kept on a single central computer.

What happens if the Internet stops working in my business?
As a seller all of your customers will automatically be notified that you are experiencing a temporary outage and orders will be stored until you are back online. If you are consistently having Internet issues then you may want to consider one of Netfira’s remote hosting solutions.

What makes Netfira secure?
Netfira nodes are always able to positively identify other nodes and we implement AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) for packet encryption and AS2 (Applicability Standard Two) for business content repudiation and guaranteed delivery. Combined these enable Netfira to offer a secure operating environment, not subject to security attacks prevalent on the open Internet.
Netfira solutions provide comprehensive security for two main reasons. Firstly there is no middleman to deal with, so information travels from one node directly to another. Secondly, like Skype(tm), Netfira’s peer to peer solution uses its own proprietary communications. We do not communicate using open protocols such as HTML, so Internet attacks such as Worms, Viruses and Trojans are not able to proliferate as they do in an open exposed environment.
