The range of Connect products has been developed using Netfira’s Secure Internet Architecture platform

When downloaded, the secure internet architecture automatically installs a webserver at every buyer and seller site. Each site and user is identified with other sites and users via the Netfira authentication and communications server; then data is transmitted securely in real time from one site directly to another, via the managed peer-to-peer architecture. Netfira has its own proprietary communications stacks and uses AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) for packet encryption, and AS2 (Applicability Standard 2) for business content repudiation and guaranteed delivery. This enables Connect to offer a secure environment, which is not subject to security attacks prevalent on the unsecured Internet.

Netfira smart peer software is a fully encapsulated N-tier application, which allows it to function in a distributed hardware environment. Each Netfira instance contains the common underlying functionality to create a unified framework that powers the connectivity requirements of the Netfira applications.

The Netfira architecture stack has five levels. The Netfira Connect application occupies the top level and accesses the core functionality, via Application Interfaces, of the built-in Web Server, the Services Layer, and the Databases.
